The drama club enjoyed a wonderfully successful run of Shades of Gray, November 6 and 7. The play was scripted by the cast of 61 students, and composed of their words and actions. Performed six times over the two days, the drama club had the opportunity to share this piece of theater with the entire middle school community.
One highlight was the visit of Dr. Terrence Roberts. One of the Little Rock Nine, Dr. Roberts spent the entire day with the middle school, sharing his thoughts with each grade, as well as taking in the evening performance. The day culminated with a discussion following the final performance between Dr. Roberts and the parents, students, teachers, and friends that make up the middle school community.
Special thanks the WEEFC and Facing History and Ourselves for supporting this memorable project.
